In this How-To we'll learn how to install and configure Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. First, we need to make sure that oursystem corresponds to the minimum requirements recommended by Microsoft for the installation of Virtual PC 2007. In general, system requirements are as follows:

  • An x86-based or an x64-based computer with a 400 MHz or faster (1 GHz recommended) processor with L2 cache. Virtual PC also runs on a multi-processor computer,however only 1 processor is utilized.
  • Host operating system: Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition, Windows XP Professional, or Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

Disk space requirements depend on the host's operating system and are as follows:

So, once we verify that our computer meets minimum requirements and after downloading Microsoft Virtual PC we can now proceed with the installation.

01 1) Double-click on setup.exe. And click "Next" in the appeared window.
02 2) Accept the license terms and click "Next".
03 3) Write your name or leave the default as is and click "Next"
04 4) Here you can select whether to install into a default directory or you can select another folder where you wish Virtual PC to be installed to and click "Install" to start the installation process.
05 5) After wizard completes the installation click Finish.
